About Beyond: 

Beyond’s mission is to support Companies, Founders & LPs beyond just capital. We believe the current venture model should evolve into a more inclusive, accessible & transparent ecosystem and we’re building our platform accordingly. Our vision is to become the Robinhood / Titan for one of the highest-returning asset classes (vc-backed companies), but with the ability to invest your expertise & network, not just capital. 

Beyond was created by Will & Dan, two founders that have spent the last 12 years founding and building companies (experiencing profitability, failure, large-exits & everything in-between) as well as angel investing in a few unicorns and plenty of failures.

We have a different structure to most funds, which enables a new way to engage our stakeholders at scale: 

1) For Companies:

‍Most companies receive limited value from their investors (apart from the $). Like many investors, we invest in Pre-Seed to Series B rounds but unlike most, we reinvest our Carry into Bounties that LPs & Founders can fulfil – Ranging from customer introductions to accessing specific expertise. This opens a previously inaccessible talent pool & network, ensuring our portfolio receives tangible support, by the most relevant individuals who are directly incentivised. See Details

2) For Founders:

Most founders don’t achieve large exits (even after big blockbuster rounds). We provide each founder ownership in our fund, which they can grow as their expertise & network does. This provides them an insurance policy, one that can grow into a highly valuable asset class, in a field they understand intimately. See Details

3) For LPs:

Most LPs & Angels achieve poor-returns (in historically the highest-returning asset class). We enable them to leverage their network & expertise to obtain more ownership in higher-quality companies. This creates a diverse portfolio that grows passively, generating higher-returns. See Details

About the Role: 

• Location: Remote (HQ: London & San Diego) 
• Commitment: Part-time / Side-hustle
• Commission: Up to 20% of Carry & Equity from referred Companies & LPs (Investments & Bounties) - see below
• Bounties: Earn Cash, Equity and Carry directly from our portfolio companies - see below

As a Venture Scout:

You’ll have a number of key roles that will help grow and evolve the company, including: 

1) Refer Companies

By referring promising companies that are raising a venture round (or plan to) and we'll include you in the upside. Earn 20% of our Carry and 10% commission on all of the Bounties the company creates or the founders fulfil in other company Bounties.

2) Refer LPs‍

‍By referring LPs (Angels / Operators / Professionals) who are interested in investing their capital, time or network into high-growth, venture-backed companies and we'll include reward you. Earn ~10% commission on the Bounties & Investments made from your referred LPs.

3) Fulfilling Company Bounties

‍From customer & hiring introductions, to detailed expertize, every company has key objectives that require access to a network and skillset outside their immediate team. You'll be able to earn carry, equity, cash & credits by achieving the success criteria outlined in the bounty, as well as building your own skillset & network (see more here).

We enable each venture-scout to build and track their portfolio that grows passively, acquiring ownership in new companies via our index-fund (that each venture-partner owns part of) and via commission on referrals. This passive growth is very powerful and forms part of a fly-wheel that helps build venture-partner portfolios' to a sizeable value.

In addition to the outlined, at Beyond we’ll support you in identifying where your interests and development opportunities lie and we'll help you incorporate them into your role.

About you: 

You’ll thrive as a Venture Scout if you:

• Exude a passion for startups, entrepreneurship, and groundbreaking technologies
• Possess some knowledge of the startup ecosystem with an existing network (desirable).

Even if you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, you should still seriously consider applying. Research shows that you may still be considered for a role if you meet just half of the requirements.
