Founded in 2020 by former SpaceX mission director Will Bruey and Founders Fund partner Delian Asparouhov, Varda was incubated at Founders Fund following the familiar path trodden by companies such as Anduril ($14B) and Palantir ($140B).
Varda develops the technology & infrastructure to scalably manufacture materials in space and return them to Earth. Leveraging decades of research on microgravity and improvements in re-entry technologies, they have developed and successfully tested an orbital manufacturing spacecraft that can be used to produce unique pharmaceuticals and other ultra-high-value materials impossible to manufacture on Earth.
